Born in Pennsylvania and then raised in Florida,
Frank has chosen the South as his place to live and
create his works of art. As a senior in High School he
was granted a scholarship to Ringling School of Art
in Sarasota, Florida. One of his High School
paintings was chosen to travel Europe in an
International Students Exhibit in 1960. After a time in
the USAF, Frank, his wife Dottie (with 3 children)
entered New Tribes Mission for missionary training.
After linguistic training in Wisconsin, the family
moved to Bogotá, Colombia where Frank attended
Universidad De Los Andes to study Spanish. Upon
returning to the USA, Frank was  hired as an Exhibits
Preparator for the Florida State Museum in
Gainesville, Florida. There he was trained by Arlton
C. Murray of the Smithsonian Institute to model, mold
and paint replicas of artifacts and other props
for the museum’s exhibits. Frank created a series of
prehistoric animal models that were sold at the
Museum gift shop. In 1970 Frank began a business
of his own as a graphics designer and letterer. At that
time he learned to paint large illustrations for
billboards and also to design logos for businesses. In
1989 Mr. Gouchnour decided to leave the sign
business to concentrate on fine arts. Frank has
always enjoyed painting portraits and found that
there was a need for quality portraiture at
reasonable prices. Frank has painted many portraits
and murals in the Southeast. One mural was
featured for two years as part of a Cotton
Incorporated television commercial. In the last 8
years Mr.Gouchnour has branched out into
computer generated art and graphics. He has found
a way to incorporate the advancements of the
computer art with the traditional media to produce
heirloom quality art.  Frank and Dottie are
grandparents and spend a lot of time with their large
extended family. Frank and his wife live in Goose
Creek outside of Charleston, near Summerville,
South Carolina.

Psa 8:3  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psa 8:5  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Psa 8:6  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
Psa 8:7  All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
Psa 8:8  The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
Psa 8:9  O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
